Texas is known for it's wide open spaces, which is very true, but the reality is that 97% of this land is privately owned. Even a state this big, 3% of the public land is not a lot, particularly when it is not all available for off-road activity.
In this episode of In Wheel Time Car Talk, we get a chance to talk with Clint Duncan, the driving force behind the Texas 4-Wheel Drive Organization. This groups works to hold events and help get more people involved in off-roading. Over in East Texas, there are a lot of mud bogs, which can be fun for some specific vehicles, but for the majority of 4Wheelers, it is hills and rocks that they look for. For people like Clint in the Houston area, it is often a 2-3 hour trailer hauling his ride that boosts some 40-inch tires, and 5:39 gears.
