Sometimes, it seems that it has just gone to far to repair. Too much rust showing, or the engine has been sitting too long to chug back to life. Many a vehicle has gone to the scrapper for such reasons.
Up in the North Texas, Ted Fox, owner of Scotter's Garage, has a different view about what can be brought back to life. Most of the vehicles that get in this type of situation have a sentimental value, whereby the owner just doesn't want to let go.
A 1960 one owner Chevrolet Impala with a straight six and slush box tranny that has been sitting far too long as the owner can't fix it, and won't give it up. In steps Ted realizing while the vehicle has no resale value when it comes to repair cost, but the sentimental value can't be calculated.
The 1976 one owner Spitfire...the salvaged movie car...the stories go on.
