On this episode of In Wheel Time Car Talk, we are at the Tailpipes & Tacos Cruise-in that happens the third Saturday of the month in Katy, Texas.
Joining us today is Rick Parras who rolled in to the event behind the wheel of his 1940 DeSoto 4-door sedan. The car looks kind'a bland compared to some of the iron sitting around it, but then again, none of the other cars are 81-years old with only 87,000 original miles! In fact, the mohair interior was replaced just a few years ago as it was starting to look a little ragged. But we will let Rick tell us the full story.

The Tailpipe & Taco Cruisein is held at Lupe' Tortillas restaurant in Katy, Texas, 8a-11amCT. There is always a great mix of vehicles ranging from classics, to muscle cars, sports cars, imports, pickup trucks, hot rods, and even some sling shots show up when the sun is shining.
In addition to being a great cruize in event, this is also a fund raiser supporting Shirley's Kids - a foundation established by the Queen of Drag Racing, Ms. Shirley Muldowney. The restaurant opens early with breakfast tacos, coffee, and a wide variety of beverages with all the processed going to Shirley's Kids. Shirley actually attended one of the 2019 events, and when she wasn't talking on the air with In Wheel Time, she was signing autographs all morning. We do hope that she gets to come this way again.
