Everyone is concerned with safety and each year, the auto manufactures improve a lot of the systems that help drivers avoid accidents. Most are currently directed to helping the driver drive safer but there are also systems coming along that don't need manual intervention. As a starter, look at the interactive lane assist or even the new cruise controls that slow a vehicle down to maintain spacing. Some systems will even bring a vehicle to a stop.
