In Wheel Time Car Talk

In America, road races are few and far between.  One of the 'most' famous is 'The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb' or simply Pike's Peak.  It is a race up to the top of Pikes Peak, 12.42 miles that climbs to a height of 14,115 above sea level - hence it also referred to as The Race to the Clouds.

The original road, 1916, was gravel, creating a lot of exciting action.  Over the years it was paved so all events are now run on asphalt.  There are several classes, with the fastest being an open wheel category, but they are all pretty fast.

Richard Tomlin, Houston Regional SCCA Executive is also part of the Safety Team for the Pikes Peak race, so he has an inside look at some of the vehicles.  While not a driver for a lot of reasons, Richard does have a car that he built for the event and he takes some time to give us a look at what it takes to build a Pikes Peak Monster.

In our Feature Segment, it is Konrad's Car Clinic.
